Penang Ghost Museum is a fun, scary and
interesting place. It is a great place to let us learn more about the different
cultures of ghost tales in different countries. The tales starts from our
local Malaysian tales from Malay tales to Chinese tales. Then we will travel
around to a few countries like Egypt to meet the all mighty Cleopatra and then set sail along with the pirates
to their mysterious hideouts.
The Chinese
has a tale about the Chinese zombies which are called JiangShi. A JiangShi which is also known as the chinese "hopping" vampire, ghost or zombies. It is a type of reanimated corpse in chinese folklore. It is typically depicted as a stiff corpse that is dressed in official garments from the Qing Dynasty and it moves around not by walking or running but then by hopping with their hand straight up 90 degree from their bodies.
